who says no to free money?

The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, refused overseas help for victims of the tsunami that struck Dec. 26th. What a noble gesture for a country to only accept aid when it needs it! Ideally that would be the case for all countries. Perhaps India is pioneering an unparalled stance on self reliance.

I began to wonder at this display of virtue by the government of India. What if other countries, emboldened by this uncanny show of temperance, followed suit? Imagine Haiti telling W, "Hey man, thanks for all your help, we'll take it from here."

"Are you sure?" asks W.

"Hey, we gotta take the trainings wheels off some time."

What if all of the illegal Mexicans pouring in through our porous borders politely declined all the goodies served to them on a giant silver platter, including schooling and healthcare, paid for by tax-paying American families? "Gracias, amigos, but we're here to make it on our own, not leech off of your backs"

Is India blazing a trail of independance for all to follow? From where did such a revolutionary idea originate? Could it be that the deregulation of India's business sector that has birthed the current economic boom in that nation has also impressed upon its leaders the benefits of self governance?

No way. I'm all for capitalism, but it absolutely does not lead to a transformation of the soul. There must be another explanation.

not to be confused with Russia's refusal of assistance when their sailors were at the bottom of the ocean. That was pride.

I can't read your writing. It is too complicated for me. India doesn't want "the W" or as I call him "The dub" to help? I can help though. Maybe I will just offer. They probebly were just waiting for me to ask. They like me better.
