There are several things that I desire to post about very badly, but I am resisting in the struggle to maintain discipline and to work diligently. I firmly believe the long term fruit from any strides I make in acquiring discipline will far outweigh the bubble gum sweetness of giving in.
Until then, here is an interesting article to read and comment upon:

I'm in agreement with The_Dude. This is a horrible, disgusting tragedy. Amazing how the "mainstream" media isn't making a big deal out of this isn't it? The only place I saw anything about this was a few days ago on FoxNews...but they're biased of course, after all, they do tell the truth.

On the first article, I didn't read the whole thing because honestly I just couldn't stomache it as an intellectual and a reader. I find it difficult to read crap, and that is most assuredly crap. It is relativistic advise on how to raise a relativistic child. If you raise a kid like that "she" (I hate the use of feminine pronouns to denote a general person, it distracts me from the article and removes me from thinking in gender neutral terms to gender specific) will only consider God, the creator of the universe, to be a novelty, no more genuine or real than Santa Claus.
Per the second article, that is probably one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard. The degree to which the killer's soul has obviously been corrupted by evil, hate, and blood-lust is grotesque. Sometimes I forget what the world we live in is like without a redeemer.
Homeys,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, what occurred in Jersey is gut-wrenching, and reminds me we are at spiritual war. The bride of Christ is being attacked constantly; we must not be indifferent.
Per the Spiritual Kid article from MSN, I went into reading it thinking it would be useless prattle in type, but a closer look, I think, is warranted.
The first tip they mention is for parents to know what they believe. This is excellent advice for all to follow because of the confidence I have in the Gospel to be self-illuminating as the Truth. Other thought systems collapse under their own weight when honestly examined, but the Cornerstone will not fall.
All in all, as attempting to be a neutral article of advice, I think they did a suitable job. They didn't shy away from mentioning Christians, as I was expecting everything from ba'hai to zen buddhism to be included while excluding the Church. If you find anything in here deserving of scorn, please holla at me, cuz I would join you.
Regarding The General's thoughts: word my brotha.
