Bingo

"We need respect for the law in this age more than we need workers. We need secure borders more than cheaper products."
--John Mark Reynolds, Professor of Philosophy at Biola University

Christians with big hearts and small brains tend to join the typical leftists that support illegal immigration. It's pretty simple:

1) An open border is a security risk.

2) Flooding the market with unskilled laborers will drive down the quality of life for the unskilled laborers we already have, i.e. the blue collar, non-college crowd. Blacks lose mightily when illegal immigration is allowed.

setting aside all of the other issues right now, the current immigration bill is 1,000 pages long and the senate will debate it 5 days after it is announced.

That's bad for everyone, except those who sponsored the bill.

It looks like despite McCain and Co's attempts to rush the bill through, the bill will not pass this week. Hopefully enough pressure will mount and it will fail.
