The religious British ended slavery

You won't learn this in school

William Wilberforce, a Christian policitian, deserves much credit for his inspiring crusade to end slavery. Read the newspapers' accounts of a speech he gave in the House of Commons on Tuesday, May 12th, 1789:

"A trade founded in iniquity, and carried on as this was, must be abolished, let the policy be what it might,—let the consequences be what they would, I from this time determined that I would never rest till I had effected its abolition."
--Wilberforce, from that same speech

A short biography of William Wilberforce.

Pray that God would raise up Christ-following leaders in our government.
