It would seem the epic comments section for my "Power Struggle" post driven by me and Pepperdeaf has come to an end. For the most part, it was an edifying debate that will remain unresolved for now. I have many thoughts as a result of the experience, but I am pressed for time, so I have to limit myself to a concise conclusion.
The worst thing to occur after such a weighty discussion is for some observer or participant to walk away thinking, "Well, we just have different opinions" and be content to further ignore the issue with a false sense of peace.
Either the biblical worldview is utterly wrong or right. There is no room for personal preference, agreeing to disagree, different strokes for different folks, whatever floats your boat, and/or some people say cucumbers taste better pickled. There is only Truth and lies.
I'll be out of commission for a couple weeks as I put it in fifth gear to get ready for an 8-hour state licensing exam on April 16th. All the classes I foolishly skipped are coming back to haunt me. Will anyone find out that I'm not a real engineer? God help me.

Good stuff, oneway. It's so weird to get on here and not call you by your real name. Is that a blog no-no? Anyway, I totally agree with you regarding the existence of one truth, and your continual pursuit of truth is motivating. I do think that it is important for us always to bear in mind that Christ and His word must always be our guide when pursuing truth. Christ is the Truth. I have a lot of respect for you.
And thank you for letting that one guy know about the 'making sense' rule.

Good post. I think the naivette that surrounds "tolerance" is worth showing up. It's no use agreeing to disagree about life and death issues.
thanks teefmoney, I'm glad to know I hadn't totally repulsed everyone. This issue is a crucial one, and one that I enjoy engaging.
Like Paul of Tarsus said, "...truth in love." I need to get there.
I gotta give you your props for coming up with that rule about making sense that I bit.

I could not agree more, Ariel, well put.
This is off topic, but I was invited to join up at this site I thought you guys would appreciate. Check out whatchreadin and let me know what you think. The place would benefit from HiFi's intellectual energy. If you're interested, I could try and get a couple invites.
Let me try posting that URL again, the simple way.
